We act for humanity.About the roleThe Business Partner - People & Culture provides critical operational support and advice in the effective management of the employee life cycle and is the escalation point for complex volunteer issues and grievances.This high impact role focuses on ensuring a truly human-centered approach, working closely with leadership teams, line managers, staff and volunteers to build capacity and knowledge of Red Cross P&C policy, practice and strategy implementation.The Business Partner will work closely with their clients to understand the context within which P&C support and guidance is being provided. Whilst this role will focus on Retail Operations, exposure to other parts of business will be provided. This allows for support during peak workloads and ensures the Business Partnering team work cohesively.About youAs an experienced People & Culture practitioner, you’ll demonstrate contemporary knowledge and expertise in leading workplace investigations; and effectively managing grievances.You will have proven knowledge of Modern Awards (in particular Retail and SCHADS), Fair Work Act, and National Employment Standards and demonstrated ability in providing advice and recommendations relevant to legislative frameworks across best practice methodology.With a contemporary approach to stakeholder engagement, you will demonstrate a strong ability in developing effective and valued relationships with executive leadership, senior leaders and the broader business.Skills and experience
  • Sound technical knowledge and expertise in operational Human Resources (HR)
  • Experience project planning and implementation including experience in leading processes of workplace change amidst restructures and business transformation activity
  • Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and interpret data to make considered and ethical decisions with the ability to clearly describe the rationale behind decisions and recommendations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage, support, challenge and influence: working with internal stakeholders to problem solve providing pragmatic, best practise solutions to emerging people issues.
  • Ability to provide quality P&C advice and internal consultancy support which are directly related to the organisation’s strategic direction and business needs
  • Ability to coach and upskill managers to effectively manage people issues within their teams
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience in interpretation and application of industrial instruments
  • Ability to work under general direction from senior employees, work independently and with people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environment
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and organise their own work to manage and support the competing needs of the client group and P&C initiatives
