About the opportunityThe Manager, Academic Model is responsible for the creation and modification of curriculum inside the University’s Student Management System, working in close collaboration with Faculty professional and academic staff, colleagues in the office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education), and external service providers. The Manager Academic Model leads the technical experts of the Academic Model Team, working in partnership with executive stakeholders to ensure that the team are responsive and aligned to the University’s strategic goals.The Manager, Academic Model is responsible for overseeing the build and deployment process for all coursework awards in the University’s systems. They will make a proactive technical contribution to the development, implementation, and review of the relevant processes, policies and systems; apply sound judgement and insights from data when providing strategic advice; manage shared resources and conflicting priorities; and engage an adaptable approach in a constantly changing and complex work environment.Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Provide leadership and guidance around effectively translating course offerings into the student management system.
  • Develop, implement, and review operational standards and key performance metrics for the Academic Model function.
  • Design and implement a stakeholder partnering and communication approach.
  • Establish sophisticated curriculum reporting and monitoring frameworks.
  • Provide effective leadership and management to a busy team of subject matter experts.
  • Take responsibility for improving service standards and the customer experience.
  • Develop professional working relationships with University stakeholders under the leadership of the Director, Curriculum Administration and Timetabling.
About you
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team of subject matter experts.
  • Expertise in curriculum administration, especially the translation of course structures to curriculum or student management systems.
  • Experience translating complex technical challenges or contexts to executive stakeholders.
  • Experience in building successful stakeholder relationships in a complex work environment.
  • Demonstrated organisation skills, including ability to manage multiple activities and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a track record of presenting highly technical matters to senior audiences.
