Are you passionate about helping others access the joy of reading and learning? We are looking for both part-time and full-time Library Assistants to join our Home Library service team.In this role, you’ll play a vital part in connecting people who are unable to visit the library in person - such as aged care residents and those who are housebound - with books, resources and technology that support lifelong learning and enjoyment.You will assist with membership applications, respond to enquiries, deliver professional customer service, and support the promotion of our Home Library service across the community. Your work reflects our values of collaboration, respect and continuous improvement.What You’ll Be Doing
  • Select and deliver library materials and resources to aged care facilities and individual customers at home.
  • Assist customers, carers and family members with requests, including use of library technologies.
  • Support the promotion of the Home Library service within the community.
  • Maintain and help manage the Home Library collection.
  • Provide excellent customer service across all library branches as needed.
  • Work collaboratively within a team and across multiple library locations.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • A willingness to work towards (or completion of) a Library & Information qualification or equivalent
  • Current Drivers Licence (Class C) and a clear Service NSW Driving History record.
  • Working with Children Check number.
  • Provide First Aid or willingness to complete within 3 months of employment.
  • A strong commitment to inclusive customer service, especially for seniors and people with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.

  • Package: $61,515 - $65,203 (full time equivalent) gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Full Time, 35 hours per week, with the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system. Part Time working 25 hours per week. Applicants must be available work a range of shifts across a 7 day spread, between the hours of 8:00am -9:00pm to support the operational requirements of the libraries.
