We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes - with one purpose in mind - to help young people live their healthiest lives.We are seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified Registered Nurses who are looking for an exciting career opportunity within the Blood Transplant & Cellular Therapies (BTCT) team, in the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) grade 2, BTCT Coordinator position at the Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW).This is a fulltime, permanent position. The BTCT Coordinator CNC2 will work collaboratively with the BTCT team, supported by the wider senior oncology nursing and allied teams. The Blood Transplantation and Cellular Therapies (BTCT) team at CHW provides complex care for patients and families referred for malignant and non-malignant diseases. The BTCT and Advanced Therapies Coordinator will facilitate the coordination of transplant workup, donor search and donor related quality requirements to expedite the patient journey toward transplant. This role will include in collaboration with other team members the coordination and supervision of stem cell collection and stem cell infusion as required. This position will have an active role in the nursing support, development and implementation of future advanced therapy models for both malignant and non-malignant applications. Knowledge and development of clinical protocols will be based on guidelines from international bodies that regulate stem cell transplantation. The CNC2 will provide expert clinical advice to patients, their family and carers and provide leadership in developing and evaluating clinical management plans based on evidence and research.
