- Leadership in Engineering Excellence: Spearhead a team of exceptionally talented engineers, guiding them not just in their current roles but in their career progression. - Strategic Contribution to OKRs: Play a pivotal role in shaping and providing valuable feedback on the team's Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). In collaboration with the Engineering Manager, you will assess and strategize the technical direction and goals, aligning them with broader organizational objectives.
- Agile Methodology Advocate: Lead the charge in embedding strong Agile practices within the team. Your commitment to continuous improvement will be instrumental in elevating the performance and efficiency of both you and your team members.
- System Ownership and Solution Design: Take ownership of significant components of our system, showcasing your ability to design and deliver robust, fault-tolerant solutions that are both high-quality and stable.
- Full-Stack Software Development: As a critical member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing full-stack, scalable software. Your work will form the backbone of our technology solutions.
- Code Quality and Best Practices: Empower your team to develop clean, maintainable code that is primed for continuous integration and deployment. You will champion adherence to best practices and software guidelines, ensuring top-notch quality and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Forge successful partnerships within a cross-functional agile team, collaborating closely with non-engineering members like Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Designers. Your role in these collaborations is key to our holistic success.
- Cultivating Ownership and Responsibility: Instil a "you build it, you own it" mindset in your team. Lead the engineering rhythm and processes from planning to deployment and support, ensuring a sense of responsibility and ownership at every stage.
- Mastering Communication Skills: Excel in communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing, is crucial for cross-departmental collaboration and success.
- We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in leading technical people building products and services in a distributed architecture. You should have demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of engineers (5+) effectively in an agile context with strong emphasis on delivery. This experience should reflect not just the duration but the depth of leadership skills you've honed in guiding teams towards success.
- Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders is essential. This skill is key in ensuring clear, concise, and impactful exchanges.
- Proficiency in managing and resolving conflicts within the team is essential. The candidate should be skilled at navigating disagreements and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Experience guiding teams in the adoption and effective use of AI-powered tools (such as code assistants, chatbots, or productivity apps) to enhance engineering outcomes.
- While not a 100% hands-on technical role, a strong understanding of the team's technologies and tools is essential. We are looking for someone with deep expertise in JavaScript, distributed systems architecture, cloud infrastructure, and continuous delivery. This knowledge helps make informed decisions, understand the challenges faced by the team, and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.
