Mobile Heavy Vehicle Inspector – Diesel Mechanic

• Travel to various client sites across Victoria to conduct vehicle inspections
• Set up and operate a Roller Brake Tester (RBT) and other diagnostic equipment
• Perform underbody inspections to identify worn, damaged, or broken components
• Verify compliance with NHVR (National Heavy Vehicle Regulator) standards
• Prepare detailed inspection reports including photographic evidence
• Assist in incident investigations where mechanical or compliance issues are involved

• This is a physically demanding role, you’ll need to get under heavy vehicles regularly during inspections
• The position involves consistent travel, as you'll be inspecting over 200 trucks across Victoria on an ongoing basis
• You may be based for a full week in locations such as Shepparton or spend several days in Swan Hill, depending on the inspection schedule
• The role offers significant variety, no two weeks will be the same, and you’ll need to be adaptable and self-sufficient

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Cert III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
• HR or HC Licence – this is a must
• Physically capable and mechanically minded, with a commitment to doing quality work
• Based anywhere in Melbourne, with flexibility to be on the road with a trailer
• Experience towing trailers and operating diagnostic/testing equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of safety and compliance standards
• Someone who’s independent, curious, and looking for a role that breaks away from the workshop routine
