- Are accountable for providing support in requirements definition and designing outcomes, planning progressive delivery, delivering the capabilities and embedding the outcomes on programs/products across the Defence Capability Life Cycle (CLC)
- Manage and monitor core elements and staff associated with the program
- Manage program organisational interdependencies including; Defence capability and benefits management, CLC and management control, stakeholder management, organisational governance, financial management, resource management and risk management
- Develop, implement and share strategies and tools for the continuous planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects, including identification and resolution of risks and issues, benefits realisation, and project impact and quality measures, to ensure successful project delivery
- In-depth knowledge and experience to undertake tasks of increasing complexity, including the ability to consider a problem, derive a range of potential solutions from existing possibilities and decide on the best course of action to reach a cost effective outcome
- High-level analytical skills and the ability to process factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations
- In-depth understanding of concepts and principles in Project Managenent and a basic knowledge of these elements in other relevant disciplines
- Demonstrated sound judgement and business acumen, with a focus on results
- Effective communications skills, presenting information clearly and in an appropriate style to the audience
- Ability to 'get to the heart of' the client's problem and identify additional work opportunities
- Degree level qualification of or equivalent with demonstrated post-qualification on the job experience and a tangible track record of achievement in project management (Under certain circumstances another appropriate qualification with a significant depth of experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree).
