Our Product & Technology team achieves this through building products that deliver exceptional home lending experiences that our brokers and consumers love and through creating business value powered by robust, innovative technology.The Head of Engineering will work with the Engage Consumer and Nurture & Retain Tribes, leading the engineering squads focused on connecting property and finance journeys, as well as empowering Brokers through our leads management and CRM platforms to enable efficient client nurture and retention journeys.What the role is all aboutThe Head of Engineering is responsible for delivering significant business impact by leading multiple engineering squads to achieve strategic product goals in our Financial Services business. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Head of Engineering will manage engineering teams responsible for the tech which supports lead generation, lead management, CRM & Franchise Operations for our network of brokers.While no two days are likely to be the same in this role, typical responsibilities will include:Oversee and execute technical solution design to deliver on the product roadmap, aligned to the tech strategyProvide guidance for complex engineering outcomes, supporting Engineering Managers to make technical decisionsEnsure engineering excellence through engineering decision making and leading the adoption of best practicesDriving impact through the direct people leadership of Engineering Managers, with a total span of around 30 software engineers located across Australia, India and ChinaHire and grow the next generation of engineering leadership, coaching and managing performanceSupport a culture of high-performance and grow engagement across teamsPartner closely with Product and Design teams to shape and plan strategic product roadmapsBuild a high-performing system of work, grounded in metrics that matter and continuous improvementLead delivery across your team, setting clear accountability for outcomes and communicating progressDrive transformative technology initiatives and manage dependencies with adjacent teamsWho we’re looking forProven experience as a senior engineering leader, ideally within a Financial Services or Lending organisationA track record of leading teams to deliver complex programs of work which have significant business impactExperience fostering collaboration across multiple teams and building relationships across business units/functionsDeep expertise in product strategy, with experience influencing product success via technical solution design and deliveryExperience operating in fast-paced innovative environmentsA strategic thinker with experience aligning engineering efforts to enterprise or commercial goalsFull stack engineering background; proven native application development experience (swift/android), react, typescript, kotlin, AWS & MFE.
