While delivering award-winning customer experience to millions of daily active users?The Engineering team is responsible for the technology to help millions of customers on their daily life banking needs and help customer in their financial journey.How will I help?This role is within Group tech Digital. This team uses a wide range of technologies to design, architect, develop and support solutions for both internal and external customers.Core Responsibilities in the role will include -

Collaborate with team members in a cross-functional team to deliver world-class and high-quality products for Westpac Digital platform.
Designing, developing, and delivering innovation solutions to optimise the performance of databases, software, and systems.
Good communication, analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail
Specialises in Performance Tuning and Query Optimisation to identify and solve performance issues and data modelling concepts.
Configures and manages HADR and 3rd party backup solutions, such as AlwaysOn, Clustering, Log-shipping, Mirroring and Replication.
Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex issues to ensure effective development, maintenance, and support of applications.
Participate in Agile ceremonies.
Provide technical guidance/coaching/mentoring to other engineers.
Contribute to growing the engineering community through our grad and intern programs.
Contribute and be an advocate to the wider development and engineering community through participation in development guilds for knowledge sharing and learning.

Passion for delivering quality customer experience as well as writing quality and highly performant Database scripts, Jobs for scalability.
Sound experience in application architecture design patterns and development practices.
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2016 and higher versions.
Sound knowledge and experience of data migration strategies, Scripting, Data modelling and mapping in complex integrated environment.
Configures and manages HADR and 3rd party backup solutions, such as AlwaysOn, Clustering, Log-shipping, Mirroring and Replication
Specialises in Performance Tuning and Query Optimisation to identify and solve performance issues and data modelling concepts.
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of common development tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Powershell, Sonar, etc
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Be a team player

Desirable skills:

Be up to date with latest trends in technology with a passion to bring new ideas to turn to reality.
Experience on cloud technologies will be added advantage.
Experience working with Agile development methodology using tools such as JIRA, Confluence etc.
Experience of working in environment with multiple integration systems
