Job Description:Seeking a Casual Sport and Recreation Attendant with current first aid and lifeguard qualifications to work in the Downer team based in Canberra at Duntroon.Responsibilities:The casual Sport and Recreation Attendant is responsible for overseeing the general operation of the pool and surrounding amenities including shower and toilet facilities. Daily duties include:

Conduct opening and closing duties for the pool
Removing pool covers
Cleaning pool and surrounds
Remove floating surface debris
Place lane ropes in pool
Prepare all safety equipment
Test quality of pool water and record results
Lifeguard activities such as maintaining a vigilant oversight of the pool
Undertake the rescue of any user in accordance with the standard work instructions covered by the Certification

Qualifications:

Current Resuscitation Certificate - Oxy Viva
Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate - must be maintained with no lapse in expiry
Current Senior First Aid Certificate
Certificate 3 in Fitness (preferred)
Suitability for Defence security clearance (Australian Citizenship Mandatory)

Experience

Minimum 1 year experience in a lifeguard role
Able to perform the inherent physical requirements of the role
Positive attitude
Customer service experience
