Must have NV1 clearance6-12 month initial CONTRACT with potential extensionHybrid working arrangement (2-3 days a week on-site in Canberra CBD)Daily rate: Open to discussROLE OVERVIEWWe're looking for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of multiple projects introducing new digital solutions within a sensitive operational environment. These initiatives involve the rollout of modern applications, implementation of a data transfer platform, and migration of information from legacy systems. The role requires strong analytical capability, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to shape requirements that drive successful outcomes.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOINGAs a Senior Business Analyst, you will:
  • Lead the end-to-end process of requirements definition, ensuring both functional and non-functional needs are clearly captured and prioritised.
  • Facilitate workshops and engagement sessions with stakeholders to draw out business requirements and align project outcomes.
  • Translate complex business problems into clear documentation, including business cases, system specifications, and process models.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and strengthen existing processes through improvement initiatives.
  • Support multiple, concurrent projects by managing requirements gathering activities and maintaining alignment across stakeholders.
  • Guide business readiness activities in preparation for system cutovers, including change management and process re-engineering.
  • Participate in and, where required, lead Agile ceremonies or Scrum meetings to ensure delivery milestones are met.
  • Provide insight into operational challenges and collaborate with technical teams to deliver practical, scalable solutions.
MORE ABOUT YOUTo be successful in this role, you will bring:Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, ideally across large-scale solution delivery or transformation programs.Strong capability in requirements definition and management (SFIA Level 5) and business modelling (SFIA Level 4).Demonstrated expertise in documenting business, system, functional, and non-functional requirements.Experience facilitating workshops and engaging effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.Practical understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and ability to run or contribute to Scrum ceremonies.Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and deliver process improvements.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and foster collaboration.If this opportunity aligns with your expertise and aspirations, please apply!
