Our Relief Team are a tight unit, who work closely together to achieve our operational goals, and experience a variety of mine sites, customer operations, terrains, and commodities.Reporting to the Relief Team Supervisor, you will be based in Perth on an annualised 8/6 roster (flexibility to work varying rosters is key) and specifically trained and supported to operate an MMU/MCU. All travel, flights, accommodation and meals will be covered by us while you work away. The MMU/MCU is a highly advanced vehicle fitted with latest technologies and onboard computer systems, and are used to pump explosives in Open-Cut and Underground mine sites.This really is an incredible opportunity to work within this specialist blasting team, experience training and learnings from some of our most experienced blasting professionals, and develop an exciting career path with a company who genuinely supports your ambitions.We strongly encourage diversity in every role we have here at Orica. Operating our MMU vehicles (Mobile Manufacturing Units)/ MCU vehicles (Mobile Charging Units) and other associated blasting plant and machinery;
Providing operational blasting knowledge and advice to our client blast crews and associated stakeholders;
Assisting with preventative maintenance on all associated Plant & Machinery;
Assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products down pre-drilled blast holes on bench/underground charging;
Working in tight unison with your teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customers;
Demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';
At all times acting with integrity and respect.

What you will bring

A current Heavy Rigid (HR) drivers licence, or the ability to gain this prior to your commencement;
2+ Years blast crew experience; Open Cut or Underground
A genuine interest in the technical aspects of blasting;
Ability to pass all required security checks in which to obtain a Dangerous Goods licence;
An excellent, positive and team based attitude where you look out for your mates;
A basic mechanical comprehension is advantageous, but not essential.
