We’re looking for out of the box thinkers who want to use technology to work on real-world problems that have the potential to change the lives of our 17 million+ customers.As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will be an integral member of our Engineering practice and delivering new capabilities to the one of the most critical applications in Finance technology. This roles focus is on operational excellence through the design, build, run, and evolution of foundational tools, infrastructure and automation working with both bank and partner teams. This role will influence engineering practices across teams, participate in governance forums, and ensure alignment with the bank’s engineering and operational standards.Overall, to be successful in this role you will:Design and evolve platforms: Develop and maintain reusable infrastructure, templates, and tooling that support application deployment, observability, and operational resilienceAutomation and Infrastructure as Code: automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environmentsCollaboration with product teams: Partner with internal and third-party engineers to co-design and operate platforms that improve delivery velocity, quality, and safety.Operational support: Participate in on-call rotations and incident response workflows to ensure availability of critical services.Influence over ownership: Focus on influencing and directing engineering practices across vendor teams to align with the banks and strive for automation, observability, and governance practices.Cross-functional governance: Participate in forums such as Change, Risk & Security, and Service Management to ensure alignment with the bank’s engineering and operational standards.Blended responsibilities: Overlap with SRE data and systems Engineering, particularly in areas like observability, DevOps integration, and service reliability.Continuous improvement: Perform complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and identification of improvement opportunities.We’re interested in hearing from people whoHave proven experience in working with engineering and operational teams, especially cloud data engineering platformsHave proven experience in operational engagements required to bring a product to life (e.g. Risk, Security, Incident, Change, Problem, Monitoring, Supplier Governance, Defect Review, Scalability, Automation)Have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)Have a problem-solving mindset with a focus on automation and continuous process improvementExhibit a proactive approach, constantly seeking innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.Offer mentorship to junior engineers, contributing effectively both as an individual and as a team member.Tech skillsWe use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks.
