
Locomotive Driver

- Darwin Location: Based in Darwin, you'll be part of a key northern freight hub while enjoying a laid-back lifestyle, vibrant markets, and year-round warm weather.
- Attractive Pay and Conditions: You'll receive a competitive salary, reviewed regularly. Plus, there's additional pay for overtime, public holidays, and penalty rates. When you work on a public holiday, you'll be paid 7.6 hours at your regular rate, plus 1.5x for any hours worked. You'll also enjoy designated Rostered Time Off (RTO) to ensure you can rest and recharge. Additionally, during a relay operation, time spent in the crew van will be paid at your regular hourly rate.

- Operation of locomotives, including mainline, shunting, and marshalling.
- Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
- Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of on-time running.
- Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
- Provide high-quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives.
- Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon's safety strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe.”
- Availability to work a 24/7 shift roster.
- Experience working with ARTC Code of Practice & Safe Working systems (SA, WA) is advantageous.
- Experience operating air brake.
- Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
- A Certificate IV in Rail Operations.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence.
