
Senior HST Advisor

- Based at Camberwell in the Hunter Valley
- Partnering with leaders to implement and continuously improve health & safety processes, including risk assessments, audits, inspections, hazard reporting, accident/incident investigations, work access permits, and behavioural safety observations.
- Conducting and supporting safety meetings, site inspections, and other activities to reinforce safety standards.
- Supporting managers to ensure employees and contractors comply with Ashton's Safety and Health Management System and relevant legislation.
- Contributing to high-level safety investigations by reviewing reports and ensuring robust corrective and preventative actions are identified and implemented.
- Providing clear and consistent communication with stakeholders - from management to frontline employees - regarding safety obligations, plans, and performance improvement.
- Driving targeted safety improvement projects in response to incident findings, workforce feedback, and business needs.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational/Workplace Health & Safety
- Previous leadership experience and ability to manage a direct report
- Formal Incident Investigation qualifications (Taproot, Essential Factors, or ICAM)
- RIIRIS402D - Carry out the risk management processes and demonstrated experience in risk assessment facilitation
- Workplace drug and alcohol testing accreditation
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience in driving safety culture improvements
- Previous experience in mining (preferably underground) or heavy industry environments
- Working knowledge of contractor compliance platforms (Pegasus)
- Knowledge of occupational health and hygiene principles
- Mental health awareness training
- Additional ICAM investigation experience
