St Columba's Primary School is in the inner northern Brisbane suburb of Wilston with an approximate enrolment of 540 students. The quality of teaching and learning at St Columba's meets the highest standards set by Government and Catholic authorities, performing at high standards against system measures and in public facing data. St Columba's actively sets and regularly reviews its goals for supporting the diverse needs of all students.Although ours is an inner-city parish primary school we meet our responsibility to prepare young people for their future in a global society. This requires us to adopt to modern technologies and new teaching techniques within a rapidly changing environment to ensure that our students are well prepared for the challenges of the 21st Century.We teach Italian, Music and HPE as our specialist subjects and offer an extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities for the students including an extensive music program of choir and instrumental programs. We have a supportive parent's community with both the P&F and School Board being actively involved in the setting the strategic direction for the school. We have a close relationship the Parish and we mutually support each other's endeavours.Class sizes vary from low to high 20s, with all Prep classes having a teacher and full-time School Officer. Classes in years 1-6 will have School Officer support based on the needs of the class.
