Access theWe are looking for a Manager (Passenger Transport Operations) to lead a high performing team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this pivotal leadership role, you will drive the delivery of essential frontline transport services and contracts, while fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders, operators, and the local community. This is a unique opportunity to influence meaningful transport outcomes across Queensland—no two days will be the same.Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Lead a local team, managing resources, finances, and staff performance.
- Drive a culture of collaboration, open communication, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the delivery and regulation of passenger transport services, including the School Transport Assistance Scheme.
- Manage passenger transport service contracts
- Act as a regulator, ensuring adherence to legislation and standards through education and enforcement.
- Support emergency response efforts, including during natural disasters.
- Foster strategic partnerships with local stakeholders, operators, and other agencies to explore and promote local transport solutions.
- Provide expert advice to customers and industry on legislation, policy and operational delivery, and manage complex complaints or compliance issues
- Participate in the development and delivery of business plan and assisting with compliance planning activities.
- Thinks strategically and aligns team efforts with broader community and organisational goals.
- Builds and maintains productive relationships across government, industry, and community.
- Develops, supports, and empowers team members to achieve high-quality results.
- Demonstrates strong governance, sound decision-making, and a commitment to public service integrity.
- Current C class driver licence.
- Willingness to travel within Queensland, and if required, work outside of normal hours during emergencies.
- Criminal history check prior to appointment.
