Together, we're reimagining insurance.So, bring a curious mind and an ambition to help us become the progressive, digitally enabled leading insurer.Job DescriptionAs a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer within the Group Data & Analytics team, you will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organisation. This role combines technical leadership with product stewardship, focusing on the development, enhancement, and ownership of the Group Reporting Product Suite.You will design and deliver scalable BI solutions, including dashboards, data models, and reporting frameworks, primarily using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. Working closely with stakeholders, you will translate business needs into technical specifications, guide development standards, and ensure the reliability and performance of reporting products.In addition to hands-on development, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the reporting suite, manage release cycles, and support continuous improvement initiatives. You will provide support and guidance to the broader team, helping to drive excellence in data delivery and stakeholder engagement.In this role you will:
  • Lead the design and architecture of the Group Reporting Product Suite, ensuring scalability, performance, and adherence to best practices.
  • Deliver advanced BI solutions through complex data modelling, visualisation, and analytics, contributing directly to product development.
  • Own the short-term technical roadmap and guide strategic direction in collaboration with the Group Data & Analytics Business Partner.
  • Manage monthly development cycles, coordinate releases, and drive ongoing product optimization and quality assurance.
  • Act as a technical liaison between business and development teams, translating requirements into solutions and mentoring junior developers.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building scalable, user-friendly dashboards and reports tailored to business needs.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and DAX, with a strong track record in solving complex analytical problems and deep data investigations.
  • Extensive experience in semantic layer design and data modelling within Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture and Direct Lake mode.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse design and ETL processes using Fabric Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, and integration with Azure Synapse or similar cloud services.
  • Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and version control for Power BI and Fabric artefacts using Azure DevOps and Git.
