
Reliability Technician - Electrical

- Investigate and correct plant failures, participate in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) on specific failures / reliability issues
- Efficiently complete planned and breakdown maintenance
- Participate in the review and commissioning of new and existing equipment and processes
- Be involved in project work
- Isolate plant safely in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
- Follow safety policies and procedures
- Ensure that apprentices follow safety policies and procedures
- Highlight ways in which company safety procedures can be improved
- Participate in risk assessments as required
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards
- Identify and implement plant improvements
- Ensure service provided meets internal service agreement
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards/ legislation
- Complete COC’s and other compliance documentation
- Identify critical settings, components and identification and management of spares
- Provide drawings and part numbers for parts replacement
- Understand, adhere to and continually improve work instructions
- Understand and adhere to departmental procedures
- Record keeping and reporting of activities performed within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Participate in ongoing training and development and proactively seek learning opportunities
- Ensure a team approach (electrical and mechanical) is taken during all breakdown and project activities
- Ensure work is being carried out according to maintenance procedures, professionally and to the highest standard
- Maintain a presence in the production areas and be proactive in asking production personnel if any maintenance / breakdown issues / improvements required
- Participate in Tier and team meetings
- Ensure effective communication and handover between shifts
- Effectively communicate plant alterations and conditions to production personnel
- Contribute to the new product development (NPD) process via communication with relevant stakeholders
- Communicate in a timely manner with production personnel during and after breakdowns so they are aware of status of repair/resolution
- Unrestricted electrical worker’s licence (SA)
- C class drivers licence
- High level of literacy and numeracy (Year 11/ 12)
- Computer literacy (intermediate) including MS office suite and data base systems including CMMS
- Experience in FMCG / manufacturing multi shift production operation
- High level troubleshooting and problem solving skills and logical decision-making ability
- Ability to interpret technical drawings
- Highly organised with attention to detail
- Proactive approach with flexibility to adapt to change
- Ability to interpret data, identify waste and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to a team culture
- Prepared to undertake any additional training to complement the requirements of the position
- Full Drivers License
- Availability for shift work (including weekends) as rostered
- Experience in operating under/ participating in TPM / 5S disciplines
- PLC I & II
- Allen Bradley PLC experience
- Siemens S7 experience
- AutoCAD experience
- EWP and high risk Forklift license or willingness to obtain
