- Provide expert electrical advice and consultancy to field staff, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Supervise and support the delivery of electrical construction, maintenance, and upgrade works.
- Ensure up-to-date compliance with all relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and safety systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections and WHS audits, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
- Support the delivery of minor air-conditioning and refrigeration installations.
- Supervise the use of risk assessment tools and ensure proper recording of electrical testing and certification.
- Provide accurate costing for minor repairs, upgrades, and electrical works.
- Coordinate training, assessment, and performance development of apprentices and electrical staff.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe work culture, ensuring adherence to modern HR practices and principles.
- Travel regionally (including overnight stays) and occasionally via light aircraft to support on-site operations.
- Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence – Mechanic or Fitter/Mechanic.
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent trade qualification).
- Demonstrated experience in domestic and commercial electrical installations with a high standard of compliance and workmanship.
- Current General Safety Induction (Construction White Card).
- Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certification.
- Valid Queensland “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
- Willingness to be nominated as a Qualified Technical Person (QTP) on the organisation’s electrical contractor licence and complete relevant QTP competencies.
- A strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), the Electrical Safety Act 2002, Electrical Safety Regulation 2013, and relevant electrical codes of practice.
- Practical knowledge of energy provider (e.g., Ergon/Energex) connection and metering requirements.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments in the field.
- Ability to mentor and supervise teams, including apprentices, and proactively manage performance and conduct.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive and hands-on leadership approach.
