Our client is seeking a permanent Senior Farmhand to join their irrigated cotton and grain operation. This role involves working across a variety of cropping programs and livestock, with duties varying by season. Additional training may be provided where required.About the Property
- Family-operated farm with a strong focus on cotton and broadacre cropping
- Irrigation and dryland cropping programs based on row cropping methods
- Crops include cotton, sorghum, mung beans, chickpeas, and cereals
- Modern John Deere machinery fitted with Trimble GPS
- Cattle operation included as part of the enterprise
- Operate and maintain a range of agricultural machinery
- Perform mechanical checks, basic maintenance, and repairs
- Undertake irrigation and dryland farming operations
- Assist with livestock work as required
- Seasonal tasks including planting, spraying, and harvesting
- Proven agricultural experience and competent machinery operation
- Understanding of GPS technology for field work
- Mechanical aptitude (welding and fabrication advantageous)
- Chemical Accreditation desirable
- Physically fit and willing to undertake manual work, including irrigation
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
