Private household in Kings Point, NY seeks a dependable, hands-on Property Manager/Caretaker to provide comprehensive care and oversight of their residence and surrounding grounds. This role blends property upkeep, landscape management with general maintenance, light repairs, and vendor coordination to ensure the estate is well-maintained and always principal and guest ready.This is a full-time, year-round position with a flexible Monday through Thursday schedule, with flexibility to accommodate occasional extended hours and weekends as needed.The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with excellent communication skills, a practical mindset, and a strong sense of pride in their work. They should be highly organized, capable of handling interior and exterior maintenance tasks, and comfortable serving as a primary point of contact for vendors and service providers. A detail-oriented approach and an ability to anticipate needs and follow through with minimal supervision are key to success in this role.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Daily and seasonal property maintenance, both inside and out
  • Lawn care, mowing, light landscaping, trimming, and general grounds cleanup
  • Addressing small repairs and handyman tasks around the home and property
  • Monitoring and maintaining basic systems such as HVAC, plumbing, irrigation, and lighting
  • Routine upkeep and troubleshooting of tools, machinery, and property vehicles
  • Coordinating appointments and supervising vendors
  • Ensuring tidiness and upkeep of all outdoor areas, including patios and walkways
  • Storm prep and seasonal readiness, including basic winterization duties
  • Handling errands and sourcing household supplies or materials locally as needed
  • Providing clear and timely updates to principals on tasks, issues, and property status
  • Additional support tasks and responsibilities as requested
Requirements:
  • Strong command of English language; exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience working in a similar role for a private family
  • Broad skillset in home and grounds maintenance, with comfort handling both interior and exterior responsibilities including general repairs, and landscaping
  • Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing needs with flexibility
  • Proactive problem solver with an above and beyond attitude and service-oriented, team mindset
  • Ability to exercise quick and accurate judgment and work well in a busy environment where the utmost discretion and confidentiality are required
  • Poised, positive, and professional in both mindset and manner
  • Comfortable working independently while staying aligned with homeowner expectations
  • Flexibility in scheduling with willingness to work extended hours as needed
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 annually, Includes full, non-contributory medical benefitsAll salaries are dependent on experience and references, and all candidates must be willing to submit themselves for a Federal Background Check
