
Field Service Technical Officer

- Provide platform and/or equipment specific support to the Sustainment team and associated maintenance activities
- Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance activities on a wide range of electronic/electrical equipment, both low voltage and extra low voltage.
- Fault find and repair electronic/electrical equipment, from deeper maintenance through to component level.
- Produce technical reports and testing procedures, review and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate effectively and provide advice to stakeholders for the successful support and maintainability of equipment.
- Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve maintenance activities on electronic equipment.
- Ensure adherence to approved work practices with specific responsibility for ESD prevention and electronic equipment handling practices.
- Supporting the delivery of a safety-first culture and the implementation of safe working processes and procedures.
- Act as the platform and/or system primary point of contact for the customer for all matters relating to technical services.
- Deliver quality control and work activities and deliverables.
- Certificate III in Electronics and Communications Engineering (or related discipline) (Essential)
- Certificate IV in Electronics and Communications Engineering (or related discipline) (Desirable)
- Industry experience in a similar engineering environment, supporting medium subsystems or group of smaller subsystems and/or equipment.
- Experience in the conduct of maintenance and repairs to a system.
- Adequate technical experience (maintenance, repairs, modifications, installations, set to work etc) in one or more of the following domains:
- Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence Systems (C4I)
- Combat Management Systems
- Command Support Systems;
- Maintenance of electromechanical and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency in (or understanding of) IPC workmanship standards
- Experience in circuits and wiring, fault finding in PC and industrial computing bus systems (cPCI, VME
- Experience in computer operating systems, including Windows and LINUX.
- Working knowledge of Asset Management and Planning Systems (AMPS).
- Able to travel interstate and/or overseas as required
- Demonstrated experience in project and/or complex task management.
- Ability to manage multiple demands and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
