Australian Citizens With NV1 Clearance residing in Australia only respondThis role will work within the System Integration and Operations (SIO) area of theWarfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT DeliveryDivision, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence.The Network Architect will be required to perform and/or have responsibility forduties including, but not limited to:Identify, evaluate, and manage the adoption of appropriate tools, techniquesand processes (including automation and continuous integration) to create arobust integration framework.Develop concept and capability in alignment with technical requirements,including criteria covering connectivity, capacity, interfacing, security,resilience, recovery, and access.Translate logical designs into detailed designs, and implement solutions asper agreed network architecture patterns.Contribute to the development and maintenance of artefacts such as BuildGuides, As-Built-As-Configured Documents, Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs), etc.Contribute to the development of system integration policies, standards, andtools.Collaborate with vendor/supplier specialists to provide solutions and optimisedesigns to achieve expected outcomes. It is expected that the candidatemay not be familiar with certain technologies or products, but will be able togain a working knowledge rapidly based on their prior knowledge andexperience.Work with peers in a highly collaborative and high-performing teamenvironment.Report to the Development Technical Lead in relation to status of activities,identified risks, and task completion at a high enough level to allow upwardcommunication through the organisation.Over 5 years experience as a Senior Network/Gateway engineer.Over 5 years experience in implementing large scale, geographicallydispersed and constrained networks, the associated security threatlandscape and related mitigations, including: (switching, routing, firewalls,segmentation, access controls and load balancing).Over 5 Years experience in a Senior Network Architect role.In-depth knowledge and experience designing Unified communications VOIP/ VTC systems.In-depth knowledge of cyber security frameworks and network securitytechnologies.Experience in designing and architecting network solutions for on-premise,private cloud or tenancyExperience in architecting hardened and segmented network environments,with focus on virtualisation and platform layer.
