A fast growing engineering consultancy is seeking a highly capable Principal Water & Wastewater Engineer to take on a key leadership role within their expanding infrastructure team. With a strong pipeline of urban development and municipal projects, this is a rare opportunity to step into a national business undergoing strong strategic and organic growth.As the Principal Engineer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of complex trunk infrastructure across water and wastewater projects, including pump stations and reservoirs. You’ll engage directly with clients, provide senior technical oversight, and help drive team growth and capability.
The role offers a unique blend of technical delivery, project leadership, and strategic input, suited to someone passionate about shaping a team and mentoring engineers.Requirements:
  • Lead the planning, modelling, and detailed design of water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Act as Project Director on major development and infrastructure projects
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and designers across technical and RPEQ pathways
  • Collaborate with internal civil, structural, planning and transport teams
  • Contribute to business development, proposals, and strategic growth planning
  • Ensure high-quality project outcomes and strong client engagement
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • RPEQ certified (or eligible within 6 months)
  • 10-15+ years of experience across water infrastructure, preferably including D&C
  • Proven leadership experience within a consultancy environment
  • Strong background in design and delivery of trunk water and wastewater systems
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative and pragmatic approach
