- Provide internal stakeholders with strategic cultural heritage management advice to support MinRes' reputation and legal compliance, while meeting project development / operational requirements.
- Prepare and deliver educational programs and heritage management procedures to support MinRes' heritage compliance, permitting and cultural heritage protection. This may include procedures, inductions, pre-starts and leadership consultation.
- Establish respectful and positive relationships with Traditional Owners and other stakeholders, and support informal and formal heritage consultation mechanisms.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder engagement, logistics and participation in heritage field activities, such as surveys, research and compliance activities.
- Represent MinRes at, and contribute to, external cultural heritage related consultation and meetings as required.
- Manage heritage field resources, equipment, and asset acquisition and allocation. This includes assisting with budgeting and expenditure tracking.
- Develop and implement site based Cultural Heritage Management Plans, and coordinate team field-activities to ensure MinRes meets management conditions and other initiatives.
- Oversee the heritage team's field-based planning, reporting, administration and logistics, to ensure consistency with internal systems, regulatory and agreement requirements, and MinRes project development schedules.
- Oversee heritage incident management processes, systems and reporting, including escalating and reporting where required.
- Develop a high performing, inclusive, and safety conscious heritage field team through targeted training and skill development.
- Proactively work with site leaders, heritage compliance and approvals teams and Traditional Owners to clearly understand and communicate with project leaders about approvals and regulatory constraints, and best manage schedules and asset allocations.
- Tertiary qualifications in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management land management or equivalent or similar / equivalent qualification or experience.
- Experience leading teams in complex environments, including demonstrated ability to make informed decisions where required.
- Knowledge of the WA Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, particularly in relation to heritage compliance, approvals and field-work.
- Proven ability and to work positively and in partnership with Traditional Owners.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team and communicate confidently in a cross-cultural context, and with a range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to deliver results within tight timeframes, and excellent attention to detail.
- Highly developed administrative systems, spatial software, computer and written skills, preferably with exposure to approvals reporting and incident management.
- Ability to develop and communicate corporate and heritage processes / procedures.
- Knowledge of, or ability to obtain, GIS skills including use of ArcGIS and handheld GPS devices
- Current WA drivers licence, with ability to safely operate a 4WD or 4WD qualification.
- Current senior first aid skills.
