The Centre plays a pivotal role in advancing healthcare by bringing together leading experts, resources, and research to inform best practice, drive innovation, and support equitable access to quality health services.Why this role matters:The Lived Experience Workplace Support Officer will offer vital support to employees with lived experience of intellectual disability, helping them achieve their work goals and actively contribute to their teams. This role is part of a multidisciplinary team at the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health, focused on empowering health care and disability professionals to address the health care needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.The role reports to Senior Research Fellow and has no direct reports.Skills Required:
- Relevant qualification with subsequent relevant experience in educating or supporting people with lived experience of intellectual disability, including people with complex support needs, in a workplace environment.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including experience in providing mentoring to people with emotional and support needs.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain clear professional boundaries while building respectful and supportive relationships with people with lived experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teamwork and the ability to build respectful, trusting relationships with all members of the research team.
- An interest in learning about inclusive research practices and a willingness to develop skills in inclusive research support.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including with people who experience communication impairment and have emotional support needs.
- Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office Applications.
