  • Designing and delivering engaging lessons in junior Geography, History, Commerce, and Business Studies for Years 7-12.
  • Encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills through active learning and real-world applications.
  • Promoting student engagement by making history, geography, and business topics relevant to contemporary issues.
  • Supporting the intellectual and personal growth of students while fostering a love for learning within the HSIE curriculum.
  • Collaborating with other department members to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Contributing to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students, creating a supportive learning environment.
Selection CriteriaTo be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
  • A strong passion for HSIE subjects and a commitment to engaging students through dynamic and inclusive teaching methods.
  • Experience in teaching junior Geography, History, Commerce, and Business Studies (Years 7-12), with a deep understanding of the NESA syllabus.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to cater to the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Current NESA registration (or ability to obtain).
  • A team-oriented approach, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
