Job Description:UST is seeking an experienced Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Consultant (preferably with strong expertise in Automation Anywhere) who goes far beyond just building bots. This is not a “heads-down developer” role, it’s designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and business. As an RPA Consultant, you will combine your technical mastery of RPA platforms, ideally Automation Anywhere, with strong consulting and relationship skills. You’ll work directly with clients to understand their business priorities, map out processes, and identify automation opportunities that generate measurable business value. You’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of automation, from discovery and requirements gathering, to design, build, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.Key Responsibilities
  • This role is largely focused on development, but also extends into areas such as process redesign, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring automation solutions deliver meaningful business outcomes.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to capture and challenge requirements, helping to streamline and optimise processes before they are automated.
  • Estimate development effort and delivery timelines, providing input into prioritisation and planning.
  • Participate in and sometimes lead design workshops, ensuring both business requirements and technical feasibility are well understood.
  • Design, build, and deliver automation solutions using Automation Anywhere (AA360 preferred), with a focus on scalability, exception handling, and governance.
  • Prototype and test solutions, ensuring reliability, quality, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Work with DevOps and platform teams to integrate automations into CI/CD pipelines and enterprise systems.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing and validation, ensuring solutions are robust, secure, and production-ready.
  • Present progress and outcomes confidently to clients, translating technical delivery into business value.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for optimisation and feeding insights back to both clients and internal teams.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in delivering technology solutions in enterprise or consulting environments.
  • 2+ years of hands-on Automation Anywhere (AA360 preferred) or equivalent RPA platform development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of automation lifecycle management, including Control Room, bot deployment, and monitoring.
  • Experience engaging with business users to capture requirements, document processes, and challenge assumptions.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, Git flow, and agile delivery methodologies.
  • A curious mindset, constantly asking “why” and seeking to improve processes, not just automate them.
  • Outcome-oriented thinking, focused on delivering value and business results, not just technical deliverables.
  • RPA development experience in Automation Anywhere (must have) and preferably exposure to other platforms such as UiPath or Power Automate.
  • Broader experience with low-code and integration platforms (e.g., Appian, Pegasystems, Workato, Dell Boomi) is a plus.
  • Understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking) to strengthen solution design.
  • Confidence to work directly with clients, present solutions, and manage expectations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical discussions.
Benefits & Perks
  • Flexible/hybrid working arrangements.
  • Health insurance.
  • Novated Car Lease.
  • Access to UST Perks (Reward Gateway), which offers discounts across major retailers.
