We're looking for an experienced and capable leader to guide our Real Time Operations team within Network Operations - someone who leads with purpose, thrives in complexity, and inspires teams to perform at their best.As Leader, Real Time Operations, you'll guide a dedicated team responsible for the safe, secure, and efficient real-time management of Tasmania's Transmission and Distribution power system. With a strong focus on continuous improvement and people development, you'll ensure that our 24/7 operations run smoothly - even during unplanned events or system emergencies.This is a people-first leadership opportunity, ideal for someone who values collaboration, growth, and innovation. You'll be part of a passionate group working together to keep Tasmania connected and safe.You'll be exposed to -
  • Driving performance and engagement
  • Championing continuous improvement through leading change to support reliable and secure network operations
  • Overseeing the real-time control room performance and ensuring seamless network operations that prioritise safety and positive customer outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and maintain a forward-looking approach in a constantly evolving industry
About youFirst and foremost; you'll hold an Electrical Engineering Degree, with a minimum of 10 years' experience within a Distribution or Transmission Network (or both!).Secondly, you're a natural leader who remains calm under pressure, values diversity of thought, and are energised by helping others succeed. You balance strategic thinking with operational know-how, and you're not afraid to challenge the status quo when it leads to better outcomes.You'll have a strong grasp of technologies used in real-time operations, including emerging tools to manage a smart network. Knowledge of industry benchmarks, compliance requirements, and regulatory obligations will support your ability to lead with clarity and foresight.Finally, you're an excellent communicator.
