If so, let's start the conversation.Primary purpose of the roleThe IT Technician is responsible to use their expertise to monitor, and maintain all IT systems. The IT Technician must be focused on specific computer networks, databases, or systems administration. Must be able to service, repair and maintain information technology systems in both a stand-alone and client-server environment. The IT Technician must be able to participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the organization and ensure that system hardware, operating systems, and software systems are fully operational. Implement the Iron Mountain integration plan to ensure all Iron Mountain processes are followed consistently and embedded. Managing and tailoring, when necessary, global processes which will drive organisational performance.Key AccountabilitiesHardware Diagnostics & RepairTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheralsIdentify and replace faulty components such as RAM, hard drives, power supplies, and motherboards.Fault IdentificationSystematically identify hardware and software faults through diagnostic tools and manual testing.Provide accurate root cause analysis for recurring or complex issuesSystem Imaging & InstallationInstall and configure operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)Use disk imaging tools to deploy standardized system setupsSoftware Troubleshooting & UpdatesResolve software errors and application conflictsPerform routine system updates, patch management, and driver installations.Data SanitizationPerform secure data wiping and sanitization of storage devices in compliance with organizational and regulatory standardsEnsure devices are free of sensitive or confidential data before reuse or disposalPreventive MaintenanceClean and maintain internal hardware components to ensure optimal functionPerform health checks to prevent failures and reduce downtimeTesting & Quality ControlRun tests to verify proper operation of repaired or reimaged systemsConfirm that devices meet performance and security standards before deployment.Inventory & Asset ManagementTrack inventory levels and update asset records.Maintain accurate documentation for all repairs, parts used, and equipment status.Documentation & ReportingLog technical issues, repairs performed, and resolutions.Keep records up to date for audits and compliance.Customer Support & CommunicationProvide clear, timely updates to users and IT support staff.Explain technical solutions in a user-friendly manner when needed.Compliance & SafetyFollow proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and safety procedures.Adhere to company IT security policies and data protection guidelines.Knowledge/Skills/ExperienceSufficient experience as a IT/helpdesk TechnicianThis includes:Knowledge of hardware technology and conceptsStrong knowledge of data sanitisation, and computer hardware, including Servers, PC Desktops, Laptops, Printers, etcProven analytical and problem – solving abilities.Professional image, attitude and method of operationUniversity degree/diploma or 2 years equivalent work experience.Category: Information Technology
