We want to hear from you!Minda is looking for a Team Leader to join our Community Supports and be key drivers in transformational change within mentoring.If you have experience supporting and empowering people with disability to achieve their goals in areas such as joining a community group, working on personal health and fitness goals, increasing life skills, being more independent around the home, as well as working on their individual employment goals, then this may be the perfect job for you.The team leader will oversee the delivery of a positive, strengths based and person-centered service to enable individuals with disabilities to reach their own potential and become integrated into their community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in teams across an organisation to deliver shared goals
  • Demonstrates ability to lead change by displaying openness and resilience, inspiring others to change and acting to make change happen
  • Excellent professional communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to professionally relate to a range of stakeholders
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail and completing timely and accurate file notes, records and data entry
  • Ability to collaborate, identify and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation
  • Competent at using MS office, systems and databases and able to train other staff to use systems and databases as required
  • Work collaboratively with other Team Leaders to ensure a consistent approach to service delivery, which empowers participants to be involved in decision making and choice
  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of support services, including the provision of formal supervision and management of a team of Disability Support Workers
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including clients, families, and guardians
  • Coordinate rosters to support client's requirements according to individual support needs, service funding and relevant legislation
  • Manage conflict, provide coaching and developing opportunities and address performance issues within your team
  • Administrative responsibilities include but are not limited to; Claiming for services, develop and maintain client plans, database management
  • Managing critical incidences as they arise including debriefing and engaging with internal support functions. In addition, identifying and putting in adequate control measures to mitigate future risk
  • Where required provide direct assistance and support to people with disabilities

  • Proven experience within a leadership role, preferably within the disability industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Disability or similar higher-level qualification and extensive relevant experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in disability or similar, including working knowledge of the Disability Act and NDIS.
  • Previous demonstrated Experience in rostering
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Working experience with clients displaying behaviours of concern
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Disability
  • DHS Disability Clearance/NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Assist with Medication Certificate
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Unrestricted Working Rights in Australia
