We are currently recruiting for a talented and driven Senior Commissioning Engineer (Elec Focused) to deliver this iconic project.Responsibilities of the role:
- Report directly to the contractor commissioning manager and coordinate with the OEM Commissioning Specialist of the area assigned.
- Manage under the direction of the OEM all the Electrical & Controls commissioning activities relating to Dry and Wet commissioning including the rectification of defects.
- Manage under the direction of the BoP contractors all the Electrical & Controls commissioning activities including the rectification of defects.
- HV/LV commissioning - supporting substation testing/SATs, commissioning switchgear, circuit breaker, protection relays and transformers.
- Manage the SCADA, PLC Programmer and electrical / instrument technicians (Dual traders)
- Manage the electrical energisation process (Notice of Energisation - NOE), including management of boundary isolations and general LOTO process.
- Ensure that instrument and control software pre-commissioning checks have been adequately completed before System Commissioning
- Ensure proper debugging of software system, including change management (MOC) * Review OEM and BoP Commissioning documentation and support preparation of work packs using the CCMS.
- Assist in delivering on-the-job training in electrical, instrumentation and control systems for Operations and Maintenance operators and technicians.
- Coordinate Electrical Commissioning and LOTO permits - work closely with the permit office
- Prepare a SCADA training plan of Operations and Maintenance staff for the balance of plant and coordinate the SCADA training plan with the OEM control system specialist.
- Adhere to 'Permit to Work', tagging and isolation procedures.
- Ensure that all occupational health and safety and workplace regulations are met.
- Ensure that all environmental and quality assurance targets are met.
- Assist in preparing Risk Assessments
- Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering
- Extensive experience in the field of Electrical installation/testing and/or commissioning
- Experience working on a major infrastructure project/FIFO projects will be highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills of liaising with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
- Previous experience in a similar capacity
