
Freedom of Information Reviewer (casual)

- Complete initial training on Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation and internal guidelines to understand role requirements.
- Apply training to review medical records and ensure compliance with FOI legislation.
- Make decisions on the release of medical records and apply exemptions as per FOI legislation.
- Conduct thorough reviews of patient records, including assessing applicant rights, monitoring statutory timeframes, and preparing documentation as needed.
- Evaluate legal risks and consult with the Legal Services team; finalize file reviews, including cost calculations and updates to the records management system.
- Provide additional administrative support as directed by the General Counsel or delegate to ensure team efficiency.
- Experience in healthcare and handling patient records; clinical qualification or working towards one (e.g., nursing, paramedicine, medicine, mental health, midwifery, or allied health).
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and effective time management with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to exercise initiative when appropriate.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Competence to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
