With a deep understanding of Coles Group's goals and values, we're able to provide practical and commercial advice that helps us all win.About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity to join our Legal team as a Senior Employee Relations Advisor. In this role you will be responsible for providing ER leadership and advice across every aspect of employment / industrial law within the collective remit of the ER Team to support the strategic direction of the business. The role is responsible for providing a full range of workplace and industrial relations advice, assistance, and advocacy to support the strategic direction of the business.You'll also:
  • Provide ER advice for new business initiatives, and projects.
  • Supportthe bargaining cycle for multiple and varied enterprise agreements (end to end), including strategy formation, planning, pre-negotiation, negotiation, implementation and approval.
  • You will engage with every facet of our business and partner with our Legal, Operations and People & Culture teams to provide advice, advocacy and guidance for our existing retail and supply chain network
  • Play an active role in enterprise agreement negotiations.
  • Assist with advocacy, primarily at the Fair Work Commission, related to enterprise agreement bargaining, dispute resolution and/or industrial action.
  • Monitor the external ER environment to identify key trends/issues that may impact Coles.
  • Identify and support in the management of compliance work and regulatory authority matters
  • Identify and support in the management of legal changes that impact Coles' industrial environment
About you and your skills
  • Strong proven experience in employee relations/employment law
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Experience with modern awards /enterprise agreements, workplace relations matters, enterprise bargaining processes, dispute resolution and employment legislation
  • Experience delivering outcomes with a strong customer focus that navigate compliance risks and provide informed / considered recommendations
  • Experience in providing accurate and timely advice in a fast-paced environment to minimise risk
  • High attention to detail
  • Legal and/or IR qualification desirable, but not required
