Reporting to the Commerical Manager, the Commerical Superintendent will be responsible for implementing contracts and procuring goods & services for RNO which minimise risk, drives value and controls cost.This is a Perth Based role with regular site travel to the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation.Key AccountabilitiesLead, develop and execute supplier and sourcing strategies to deliver commercial outcomes from tender to contract execution;Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships (both internal and external) including service providers, suppliers and peer groups;Provide effective contract administration and oversight functions including commercial related registers, the establishing policies, procedures, templates;Effective negotiating of contracts across the operation (this includes training stakeholders in contract management and scope development);Managing contract variations to ensure they are approved, implemented, and recorded in a timely manner in accordance with the contract;Ensuring continuity of service delivery within the time period of each contract by monitoring contract expiry dates and implementing timely contract renewals;Monitoring the key performance indicators for all contracts, including the on-going review and recommendations for changes where appropriate by testing against industry benchmarked and best practice examples;Identify and create opportunities for supply chain optimisation including cost reduction and value adding by introducing a collaborative approach to executing preferred supplier agreements and purchase orders for goods (including repairs).Implement and maintain effective and efficient commercial practices to ensure successful procurement, repair and delivery of all contracted goods including monitoring supplier performance with KPI’s and periodical meetings.Coordinate and monitor the activities of the contracting, purchasing, expediting and inventory management (including cataloguing) functions;Ensuring inventory levels are optimised to gain maximum benefit from working capitalManage contracts, procurement and inventory team’s performance reviews, KPI’s and development plans including training and professional development;Positively contribute, through strong leadership, and adherence to the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures;Attending site on regular basis (minimum of 2.5 days per fortnight); andCarry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Commercial Manager.Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceUndergraduate degree in Commerce/Business/Law or relevant disciple is required;10+ years managing the contracts/procurement functions for a resources companyPossess strong commercial acumen, knowledge of contract law and negotiation skills;Exceptional communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills;Demonstrated high level analytical skills and understanding of contract law;Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;High degree of computer literacy including using all Microsoft Office products;Experience with Pronto/SAP Ariba software will be highly regarded;Significant Experience with contractor and supply chain management in the mining industry will be highly regarded;Schedule 26 appointed or will be required to obtain the qualification within a specified timeframe.Visit our website and register for instant job alerts atFollow us for the latest news atIf you are already a First Quantum employee and have access to the First Quantum network, log into First Quantum MINE
