This comprehensive service includes the maintenance of buildings, workshops, fleet, and stores; civil infrastructure such as drainage, footpaths, and waste management; and the care of parks, landscapes, and open spaces. Specialised teams handle everything from arboriculture and turf management to pest control and security, while also responding to emergencies and maintaining contracts for features like reserve maintenance and cemetery services. Field Services plays a crucial role in supporting a vibrant and sustainable community.About the role:We are looking for an individual to join the Council's Tree Maintenance Team, where your experience in all aspects of arboriculture will ensure the efficient maintenance of Council's extensive tree pruning operations which contributes to quality open spaces for the community.Who you are:The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of motivation and enthusiasm, a strong commitment to safe work practices, be a team player, and have good problem solving abilities will be highly regarded.Key Responsibilities:
  • General Field Service maintenance duties including tree pruning, tree removal, screen maintenance, branch collection & severe storm event maintenance in a manner that provides a safe environment for the community
  • Maintain equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition in accordance with the recommended operating procedures
  • Undertake duties that may include other plant and equipment where suitably licensed and experienced
  • Placement of temporary signage in accordance with the Work Zone Traffic Management Australian Standards
  • Work under the supervision of the Leading Worker & Coordinator
  • Ensure work undertaken meets quality standards
  • Work to programs and guidelines
  • Undertake operational duties in efficient manner
Skills & Competencies:
  • Qualifications Certificate III or equivalent in Horticulture with experience in Arboriculture
  • Minimum of 24 months experience in tree maintenance operations are desirable.
  • Truck Licence - minimum MR
  • Utilization of Elevated Work Platforms (EWP)
