In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.About the Role:We are currently seeking trade qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering Operations Manager, you will have proven experience providing technical knowledge and solutions for the hands-on day to day maintenance of mechanical equipment. The position is key to supporting the Engineering team, improving reliability and carrying out preventative maintenance of all equipment and machinery across all Northern Health sites. Rotation across all sites and campuses.This role is responsible for:
- Working in a team environment to resolve day to day maintenance issues;
- Providing maintenance, technical support to both maintenance & hospital personnel;
- Carrying out preventative maintenance and continuous improvement tasks;
- Diagnosis / fault finding techniques of mechanical equipment and rectification of faults;
- Performing breakdown maintenance; across all sites, all areas and non-licensed work.
- Prioritisation, planning and organising tasks;
- Compliance to industry standard practices;
- Conduct mechanical rebuilds and maintain workshop housekeeping;
- Supervise contractors performing mechanical tasks, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols;
- Contribute to the training and supervision of Maintenance Technicians.
- Absolute commitment to OH&S, Quality, and Environment policies.
- Trade qualified fitter and machinist; Compulsory
- Be available for on-call breakdowns and provide shift cover. Rotation included
- Be prepared to participate in the on- call roster
- Sound knowledge of Hospital maintenance and OH&S requirements;
- Ability to supervise Maintenance tech and contract workers;
- Good Interpersonal skills;
- Ability to drive continuous improvement;
- Analysis and problem-solving skills;
- EWP Licence (Advantageous);
- Experience in Welding (Advantageous);
- Experience in using maintenance system CMMS (Advantageous);
- Working in Confined Space Certificate (Advantageous);
- Industrial experience preferred from within the Health industry is desired, but not essential.
