As a fundamental player in the Defence industry, UGL plays a vital role in supporting the Defence Fuel Network across 100 Australian Defence bases nationwide.From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services, our team's expertise ensures we deliver effectively and sustainably.As a result of expanding scope of works within UGL’s portfolio, we are seeking to recruit a Trades Assistant to join our Operations & Maintenance team at the Tindal RAAF Base in the Nothern Territory.This would be an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment to support the security requirements of the Nation. Benefit from the opportunity to work with a Tier 1 services provider in a long-term, operations and maintenance contract.The RoleReporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at Tindal RAAF Base, supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel. You will be a part of a core crew of UGL technicians.These duties will include, but not limited to;
  • Assist the team with scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
  • Assist with project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment
  • Support subcontracted work packages as required
  • Support various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout NT
  • General administration & ad hoc duties as required
What you NeedYou will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee that will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes for UGL and our customer. We expect the successful applicants to have the following
  • Previous labouring or trade (mechanical) experience highly regarded
  • Previous experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas would be advantageous, not essential.
  • Defence fuels network or defence industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded
  • Safety is at the forefront of everything you do!
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
  • Savvy IT / computer skills
