We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads - to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.About the roleWe’re seeking a Senior Internal Auditor on a 12-month contract, who will be responsible for internal audit project management and delivery of internal audit projects, including scoping, field work, data analytics and audit reporting.Key to the role will be the ability to execute high quality work, develop trusted relationships at all levels across the business and to promote and maintain a positive and transparent audit culture throughout the organisation.You’ll join an innovative team, reporting to the Head of Internal Audit. As our Senior Internal Auditor, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.Day-to-day, you will:Co-ordinate a portfolio of internal audit projects and compliance activities, including the key administrative tasks required to be able to deliver the audits as part of the Internal Audit planExecute the delivery of audit engagements including the scoping, development of test plans, data and analytics testing, fieldwork and drafting of reports detailing results and observationsMaintain strong relationships with stakeholders during and post engagementsSupport the internal audit annual planning activities, including co-ordination of key administrative activitiesWorking in collaboration with the risk management team, prepare and execute risk/control assessments for each internal auditAbility to challenge and evaluate risk management processesUnderstand and audit compliance programs and regulatory requirementsCreate the first draft of audit reports, audit committee papers and any other internal audit material as directedAssist and execute other special project activitiesThis role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Technology or a related disciplineStrong and proven controls experience as an Internal Auditor, IT Auditor or Data Analytics consultantStrong technical skills in internal audit, and a thorough understanding of a range of strategic, financial and operational process risks and controlsHigh level of attention to detail and the proven ability to facilitate the timely and effective execution of Internal AuditsSound knowledge of Risk management, internal control principles and assuranceAn ability to lead and operate autonomouslyStrong ability to analyse information quickly using innovative solutions and to solve complex problemsExperience in developing constructive and practical recommendations to improve processes, controls and reduce risksCommunication and influencing skills must be a key strength, as your ability to engage and build relationships with executives and staff will be critical to your successProven experience of reporting and presenting to senior managementIf you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:A range of flexible working optionsLearning and development opportunities to support your career interestsHealth and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and moreSocial activities and groupsWe offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests.
