
Assistant Configuration Manager

- Support configuration management processes for land vehicle systems, maintaining accurate baselines and managing change control throughout vehicle lifecycle phases.
- Plan, document and schedule project Configuration Control Boards.
- Collect, verify, and control configuration data from engineering, maintenance, and operational sources to support fleet readiness.
- Use Configuration Management Tools (CMT-L/ERP) to input Configuration Item data.
- Maintain and provide quality assurance of data records.
- Provide support to the Commonwealth with obtaining technical certification for various Mission System upgrades, including review of technical artefacts and data management.
- Provide support to Engineering Changes, Configuration Management and Engineering processes and monitor products through the approval process.
- Provide support to defect resolution (RODUM) and subsequent Engineering Changes Proposals (ECPs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sustainment, logistics, and field support teams to ensure data consistency and readiness for operational deployment.
- Conduct configuration audits, support technical data package (TDP) management, and monitor compliance with Defence Configuration policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance configuration data quality, reporting, and process efficiency.
- Provide expert guidance on configuration management best practices and mentor junior team members.
- Minimum 3-5 years defence-related experience in data and configuration management with a focus on land vehicle platforms or complex Defence systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Defence Configuration Management policies
- Proven experience with Configuration Management Tools such as CMT-L, TeamCentre or ERP. JIRA experience is desirable.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with experience managing technical data packages, configuration audits, and sustainment records.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary Defence project and sustainment teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related discipline preferred; minimum Advanced Diploma or equivalent Defence experience considered.
- Mandatory possession of an active NV1 or above Defence Security Clearance.
