Our local experience in underpinned by significant global expertise and resourcing.The ProjectThe consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels - the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.The Role:Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting all aspects of plant operations for foundations and bridge construction, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable use of plant and equipment. You will act as the technical interface between site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, providing practical solutions, coordinating logistics, and supporting project delivery to meet schedule, budget, and quality objectives.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, mobilise, and coordinate heavy plant and equipment for piling, foundations, and bridge construction.
- Monitor utilisation, performance, and implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Provide technical advice on plant selection, capabilities, and safe operating procedures.
- Respond to breakdowns and support repairs, modifications, and upgrades.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and logistics teams to manage plant operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, compliance, and utilisation.
- Support lift studies, equipment planning, and WHS, environmental, and quality compliance.
- Assist with procurement, supplier engagement, and forecasting plant requirements to align with construction programs.
- 2-3 years' site experience in plant engineering, civil, or infrastructure projects.
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of heavy plant and equipment used in foundations and bridge construction (e.g., piling rigs, cranes, concrete pumps, and precast handling equipment).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plant specifications, and maintenance schedules.
- Practical problem-solver with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and build rapport with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
- Flexible and proactive, with a willingness to work across both site and office environments.
- A strong safety-first mindset with knowledge of WHS standards and safe work practices.
