
Defendant Health Liaison Officer

- Provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, and referral services for individuals charged under the Family Violence Bill 2005, who present with single, dual, or multiple needs related to alcohol and other drugs, mental health, and/or disability.
- Liaise with courts, police, legal professionals, and other justice and community services to offer specialist consultation and guidance on complex health presentations.
- Help offenders understand their legal obligations under Family Violence Orders and Police Family Violence Orders and navigate the court process.
- Promote community awareness of the intersection between family violence and mental health, disability, and substance use.
- Provide assessment and support to individuals mandated under the Family Violence Reforms Act 2022 to complete Mandated Behaviour Change Programs.
- Skilled in conducting assessments and coordinating care for individuals with complex needs.
- Committed to trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice.
- A strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and engage respectfully with clients who may be mandated to attend or in crisis.
- Able to work across multiple service systems including health, justice, and community services.
- Holds a tertiary qualification in an appropriate allied health discipline (experience working in family violence, forensic, or mental health settings is highly desirable).

- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- Correctional Allowance of 6.5%
