Financial Accountant - Sydney CBDThe Client:Our client continues to play a key role in delivering on the Government & promises to the people of New South Wales - to make the State a great place to live and work. This large Government agency provides expert advice in financial management through sound governance, assurance and regulatory frameworks that support financial control, effective decision making and delivery of high quality and timely financial information. This branch provides a depth financial accounting and reporting including monthly reporting packs and completion of budgets, projection updated and total state sector accounts.This role supports the delivery of high quality month end and year end reporting and accounting in relation to the general government sector to support government decision making, policy development and implementation. The role also supports management of General Government appropriations including completion of annual appropriation budget requirements and coordination with Parliamentary Counsel's Office.Duties:

Support delivery of key reports including projection updates and accounting, Budget and Half Year Review.
Examining bank statements and reconciling them with general ledger entries
Examining expenses submitted by employees
Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable
Creating company financial reports with the above information included
Analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial health
Analysing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue
Examining the proficiency of the software programs used to organise data
Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity and cash flow

About you:

Degree qualified and CA/CPA qualified
A strong technical background, ideally developed either within a multinational or a Big 4
Chartered environment
Experience with Month end / Year end
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with SAP and Tableau desirable
Excellent accounting and problem solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Intelligent, proactive and forward-thinking approach
