- About the role The Quality, Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of Quality, Risk and Compliance, including Export Control, systems for Rohde & Schwarz Australia. Reporting to the Head of Quality, Risk and Compliance, the role is a key focal point for the day-to-day operational matters in relation to Quality, Risk and Compliance. The following duties include but not limited to, Quality management key responsibilities:
- Facilitate the implementation and management of corporate governance directives, frameworks, policies, processes and practices.
- Support the development, review and update of the local management system and drive the implementation of improvements.
- Coordinate the planning, execution and follow-up of external assurance audits, keeping stakeholders informed about the progress.
- Conduct the planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up on supplier assurance audits, ensuring that findings are tracked, addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
- Track and monitor customer complaints, conduct reviews, perform analysis, report, and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct, analyse, report, and follow up on customer surveys. Investigate and support the implementation of improvements as agreed by stakeholders. Risk management key responsibilities:
- Support the review and update of the corporate risk management process and drive the implementation of improvements.
- Support corporate risk management reviews and facilitate updates to the risk inventory (risk register) as required. Compliance key responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to all company policies, processes and practices by providing support to the business on compliance matters.
- Support internal and external compliance reporting.
- Support the development, review and monitoring of Export Control (EC) applications. Ensure accurate records and registers are maintained and timely execution of the applications.
- Support the conduct of personnel vetting for access to EC material and information.
- Ensure the currency and update all Export Control registers.

- Skills and experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of industry-specific standards, relevant training or certifications will be advantageous.
- Certified Lead Auditor - ability to plan, execute, and follow up on audits.
- Mandatory experience with ISO 9001 quality standard and relevant industry experience.
- Defence Security Clearance preferred.
- Desirable, prior experience with product certification.
- Desirable, knowledge of ISO 17025 certification. Technical / Functional skills
- Preferred relevant industry experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Test and Measurement related environment.
- Prior experience managing and maintaining a Quality Management System.
- Ability to analyse data and identify areas for improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy for reviewing documentation, tracking non-conformances and improvements.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to lead quality initiatives and influence others to maintain quality standards.
