This is an 800-bed teaching facility that provides a wide range of services from obstetrics to aged care, rehabilitation, emergency, intensive care, oncology, psychiatric services and Hospital in the Home (HITH). In addition to providing quality, accessible health care they are also a teaching hospital and have a history of contributing to medical research.Position
The Intensive Care Unit is a 13-bed level III facility with affiliations to both Monash and Deakin Universities. The unit is staffed by 8 intensivists, all Fellows of the College of Intensive Care Medicine and is accredited as a C12 unit by the College. There are 13 registrars of whom 12 are registered with the College including 4 advanced and 8 basic trainees.The ICU is a high acuity ICU with a broad general case mix, excluding cardiac and neurosurgery. However, the trainees are provided with an opportunity to gain cardiac and just recently neurosurgical experience via rotating to the Private Hospital ICU.The College of Intensive Care Medicine has accredited the Private Hospital ICU as an extended site for training in Intensive Care Medicine. As an ICU trainee, you will gain a broad range of experience in clinical adult Intensive Care Medicine with training in various critical care techniques and therapies including mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, fibreoptic bronchoscopy, and percutaneous tracheostomy.Requirements
AHPRA Registration or eligible.
CICM Trainees/ Onshore ICU Registrars.
