AUSTRALASIAN AIRLINE CATERER OF THE YEAR 2025So, what does a typical day look like?As a Catering Attendant - Stores you will be working in our Warehouse. You’re an integral member of our team, working across a range of areas to prepare all elements required to deliver a memorable dining and service experience for passengers onboard our Airline customers flights.To do this, you will perform a variety of roles across our Warehouse, including transferring and moving equipment and inventory between our Refrigerated and Frozen Goods, Dry Stores, Equipment Room and Cart (airline trolleys) Make Up Area our Bar and Bonded Alcohol caged areas, Cutlery, Glassware and Wash Up and our Production Kitchen.In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:
- Receiving, handling and storing of goods and items within our warehouse.
- Accurately recording storage and transfer movements of inventory and equipment
- Assist stocking Airline carts with dry store items including equipment (cutlery, crockery glassware), packaged snacks, and beverages.
- Prepare, plan and forecast what needs to be moved where for each day of service
- Gather information from airline systems to enable the completion of daily tasks
- Continuously track par levels of stock, including WIP (work in progress) stations
- Compliance with all Food Safety and HACCP guidelines, and adherence to hygiene standards and cleaning schedules.
- Communicate and coordinate with teams to ensure delivery times and deadlines.
- Removing all perishable items from the kiosk and counted, ensuring products are in date and within temperature
- Replenishment and recording of top up stock items and final dispatch
- Ensure all paperwork and data entry is completed in accordance to each customer.
- Ensure all Airline catering equipment is clean and presentable ready for dispatch
- Ability to work as instructed following both verbal and written work instructions
- Apply safe manual handling techniques at all times
- If the use of pallet jacks or forklifts are required for receiving, retrieval or moving of any stock, ensure you comply with our safety guidelines on use of machinery
- Ensure adherence to Galley Loading Plan (GLP), Cart Packing Plan (CPP) and Equipment Loading Plan (ELP) as applicable to the role
- Sound numerical skills for accurate documentation and reporting.
- Previous exposure to a large commercial setting, factory or warehouse ideal
- Current Valid Forklift / Working with Heights License (desired but not essential)
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as moving and lifting items.
- Ability to work shift work across a 7-day roster.
- Sound knowledge of Food Hygiene and HACCP (desired but not essential).
- As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
- Availability to work 38 hours/week, as this role is a full-time permanent position.
