Job DescriptionAbout the Role:Are you a passionate Science teacher looking for a new role commencing term 4? A welcoming and supportive Secondary College near Bayswater, is seeking a dedicated educator to join their team from Term 4. Teaching Science to Years 7-10, you'll work alongside a collaborative staff committed to nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and student growth.Key duties:

Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum aligned with educational standards and guidelines, covering various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science under the Victorian Curriculum.
Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities.
Manage laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and organised environment for conducting experiments and investigations. Teach students proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and ethical practices in scientific research.
Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and mastery of scientific concepts and skills
Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in science education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and technology integration. Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to science teaching.

Skills & Experience:

Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
Current/valid VIT registration (or in the application process)
Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Science in Australia/NZ
Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
Uphold the highest quality of child protection

Offering:

Teaching Science to students in years 7 through 10 with scope for teaching year 11 Chemistry
Participating in a community with a strong ethical core that prioritises the development of character and a sense of social responsibility
Salary commensurate with proven skills, spanning from $78k to $118k annually
