Experienced Physiotherapist required for hospital based role in the Northern Territory. You will join team of Physiotherapists. I’ve had great feedback from my current locums. Minimum four years relevant experience required. This is a three month contract + possible extension. This is a senior level role. Join this large allied health team, including some of my other locums. All have extended their time with this hospital. The team are inclusive and social. You will join an established team of experienced Physiotherapists.You will be working in a multidisciplinary team covering up to 10 rehab beds and a small outpatient load in an acute care hospital consisting of approximately 186 beds. Currently there is a part time Rehabilitation Consultant, a Rehabilitation Registrar, a Clinical Nurse Manager, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Allied Health Assistant and support is provided from Social Work and the Aboriginal Liaison Team and Complex Care Coordinators.The caseload is adult based. Conditions mainly seen are varied including but not exclusive to; CVA’s, amputees, multi-complex trauma, neurological conditions, traumatic brain injury and vestibular issues. The inpatient caseload mix is approximately 90% Aboriginal, so experience in working with people from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds is an advantage.The Senior Physiotherapist directly supports and mentors 1 x P2 (grade 2) Physiotherapist and 1 x Allied Health Assistant (shared with other professions). The Physiotherapy team consists of 13 Physiotherapists and 1 x Physio Assistant and the Rehabilitation Senior Physiotherapist will be expected to lead continuous quality improvement projects and contribute to the wider physiotherapy team leadership. There is also the opportunity to be part of the weekend roster (4 hours Saturday and Sunday – not essential).85% of the caseload is indigenous, with 50% coming in from remote communities. P3 award rates salary from $108,699 to $121,738 + super.The location is a great base for exploring the natural wonders of the Outback including: Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon, the West MacDonnell Ranges and the Larapinta Trail, the Simpson Desert and the gorgeous NT watering holes.
