$57.36hr (Dayshift): Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
$68.83hr (Afternoon Shift): Monday to Thursday, 1:30 pm - 10:30 pm & Friday, 1:30 pm - 7:30 pmKey Duties
- Disassemble, inspect, and requalify HME and locomotive components (wheel motors, alternators, traction motors, cartridges, blowers, radiator fans)
- Measure and inspect critical journals and bores
- Conduct requalification inspections of bearings and pinions
- Assemble components including preparation, installation, and bearing fitment
- Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process
- Use iPads to manage job progression and documentation
- Contribute to Lean initiatives and workshop efficiency
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance
- In-house training provided
- Relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or Mechanical Machine Repair
- Experience overhauling AC/DC traction motors, alternators, and rotating equipment
- Sound mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Familiarity with GE or EMD motor systems highly regarded
- Strong measuring skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to learn and grow within a high-performing team
Competitive hourly rates:
- Days: from $57.36hr
- Afternoons: up to $68.83hr
- Penalty rates for public holidays (up to 150%)
